Moutin Factory Quintet— Chorum Hall was selected as one of the host venues for a filming of a jazz documentary: “MISSISSIPPI DREAMING: the road trip”
In mid-September, a French film documentary celebrating the birth of jazz along the Mississippi River will begin filming in Chicago. The film will chronical eight performances of the great French jazz group: The Moutin Facory Quintet, as they make their way down the river. As part of this project, on September 28th, the Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge will host the group for a filming and performance at Chorum Hall in Baton Rouge. The Moutin Factory Quintet’s journey concludes at Snug Harbor in New Orleans and then a farewell performance at Dizzy’s in New York. This group of French jazz virtuoso musicians is led by the brothers Moutin, Francois (bass) and Louis (drums) with Jean-Michel Pilc (piano), Christophe Monniot (saxophone) and Manu Codjia (guitar). |
